Technology and Society
At the beginning of the 20th century, the United States was a largely agrarian society. The West was not won, but the industrial revolution was in full swing. Invention and innovation in technology were changing peoples’ lives. Today, on Traveling in History, we’ll be speaking with three people who had an impact in the early 1900s. We’re speaking with novelist Upton Sinclair, inventor Thomas Edison, and steel tycoon Andrew Carnegie.
